A Red Kite above our Derbyshire Greenhouse

Look who we had soaring above the greenhouse today - a majestic Red Kite!

I watched it being pursued by two crows, twisting and tumbling through the air as it dodged them before eventually shaking them off.

It was amazing to watch, and I managed to catch a few photographs to remember the moment. 

It’s particularly lovely to see these birds knowing they were once close to disappearing from Britain. Conservation work and reintroduction programmes have helped them recover, and they’re now on the UK’s Green List.

Usually I’m photographing the plants, but today there was a good reason to look up.
