Strong UK-grown Sea Kale (Crambe maritima) plug plants, carefully grown and supplied ready to pot on or plant out when in season.
Sea kale is an unusual perennial edible plant traditionally grown for its tender spring shoots. It also has striking blue-green foliage and masses of white flowers attractive to pollinators. Once established, plants can live for many years, making them a useful addition to perennial vegetable gardens, edible landscapes and coastal gardens.
This hardy British native coastal species tolerates wind and dry conditions once established. Sea kale can be slow and challenging to raise from seed, so young plants offer a useful head start.
About Sea Kale
- Hardy, long-lived perennial vegetable
- Tender edible shoots in spring
- Attractive blue-green foliage and white flowers
- British native coastal species
- Suitable for kitchen gardens, food forests and edible landscapes
- Best given a permanent position once established
Growing Information
Grow in a sunny position in well-drained soil. Sea kale develops deep roots and dislikes being moved once established, so choose its permanent position carefully. Allow plenty of space for mature plants.
What You Will Receive
When available, you will receive healthy UK-grown plug plants, carefully packed for posting. Plants are labelled and supplied with the appropriate UK plant passport information.
Dispatch & Packaging
Plants are carefully packaged and sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48. Postage charges, where applicable, are shown at checkout. Where possible, we use letterbox-friendly packaging to help avoid missed deliveries. As plants are living items, size and appearance vary with the season.
About Our Plants
We grow our plants here in Derbyshire from seed or propagation stock rather than importing finished plug plants for resale. We use recycled and recyclable packaging wherever possible, with small amounts of tape and repurposed plastic where needed to protect plants in transit.
